Being racist online is proving to be a winning formula for Reform candidates in this week’s local elections, with Derek Bullock now securing a seat in the Hulton suburb of Bolton.
Bullock was previously expelled twice from the Conservative Party for racism, but as we’re rapidly finding out, Reform politicians are held to somewhat lower standards.
In response to a BBC News article on the Manchester Bombing on Facebook back in 2017 – Bullock wrote: “Shoot the P-kis on the spot”…

… which didn’t even make sense, given the Manchester Arena bomber was of Libyan descent, but I guess it’s all the same thing to Bullock.
He also shared an article about the doubling of Muslim children in the UK & Wales, adding the caption: ‘The clock is ticking’. What, this guy? Surely not…

Bullock was one of nine Reform UK candidates elected to Bolton Council in a “seismic” shift that saw the party surge from 1 to 10 seats overall.
Interestingly, Bolton had two consecutive Muslim mayors from 2022 – 2023 and 2023 – 2024, so it’s a little surprising that a Reform candidate with a history of anti-Muslim rhetoric could pick up so many votes in the area.
For what it’s worth, Bullock has always insisted the screenshots of his racist comments are fake, and has noted his role as a trustee for the Asian Elders’ Resource Centre in Bolton.
In any case, they’re relatively tame compared to the Reform candidate who suggested ‘Nigerians should be melted to fill potholes’. Guess what?
